I graduated from the Inholland Alkmaar Conservatory, as a performing musical artist and singing teacher. I added the 3 year singer / teacher course at the Complete Vocal Institute to my experience, where I graduated as authorised CVT teacher in June 2020.
Complete Vocal Technique is the world’s largest singing technique method with the most teachers sharing a technical terminology. CVT is based on more than 25 years of extensive research and is recommended by doctors and speech therapists all over the world. Based in voice anatomy and physiology, CVT covers techniques for all genres and styles of singing in a healthy manner.
Singing is not that difficult and everybody can learn to sing. CVT has divided the singing techniques into four main subjects:
The three overall principles – to ensure healthy sound production.
-Support
-Necessary twang
-Avoid protruding the jaw and tightening the lips
The four vocal modes – to choose the ‘gear’ you want to sing in.
-Neutral
-Curbing
-Overdrive
-Edge
Sound colour – to make the sound lighter or darker.
Effects – to achieve specific sound effects.
-Distortion -Screams
-Rattle -Air added
-Growl -Vocal breaks
-Grunt -Vibrato
-Creak and creaking -Ornamentation technique
By combining elements of these four subjects, you can produce precisely the sounds you want. You will also be able to pinpoint your specific problems and mistakes and learn how to use your voice in a healthy way.
